Posted by Wingnut (2) Edit | RE: KA-60 Kasatka Posted: December 10, 2003 (11:45 AM) | My guess would be that, the KA-60 and KA-50 have different roles. The KA-60 is a tranport and patrol helicopter ment for shipboard use, therefore it is an advantage to use a scheme with one main rotor assisted by a tail rotor. This gives better low speed handling copared to the two mainrotor scheme on the KA-50. because i can't see how the KA-50 can rotate without some forward movement. This possible with a traditional rotorscheme. look at: http://avia.russian.ee/vertigo/ka-60-r.html and: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/ka-50.htm For comparison and adittional information. |
