Sikorsky and Helicopter Industry

As we all know, Russian engineer Sikorsky developed the first Rotary Vehicle in the world although ancient Chinese started helicopter blade idea 2000 years ago and Leonardo Da Vinci continued his own idea.

What do you think of the future of Helicopter Industry in 50 years and what are the requirements that are needed to be developed and invented for the future of Helicopter Industry?

I personally love helocopters!
They have their own limitations and great advantages.
One of the greatest limitation is maximum speed that could not be overcome unless main rotor is stopped or tilted 90 degrees while in the air. If this happens - helicopter becomes a hybrid aircraft.
I would imagine that we will see more hybrids in the future and with development of a new materials - helicopters with greater lifting capabilities or greater range.

Another possibility is when helicopters will be gradually replaced in many areas by VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.
Jet engines become more dependable, economical and powerful. Jet advancement will permit (I think) VTOL aircraft replace helicopters in some areas where helicopters used today but I think helicopters will remain in general for a very long time.
