As far as CNN;
I only watch the business program.And and that info is always cross-checked with Barrons and Bloomberg.
For World, National, and Local, news? I check out Reuters, BBC, and alternative newsweeklies.
In the case of the alt-nws-wkls, I'm selective on which ones I pick.
For Aviation news:
I subscribe to AirForces monthly, but, often I will pick up, Flight Journal, Wings, Airpower, Combat Aircraft, might as well get subscriptions to all, but, I do like my disscussions with the staff at the local newsstand.
And when I can get 'um, Nezavisimoye voyennoye obozreniye (Independent Military Review,) and Tekhnika i vo'oroozheniye( something like Equiptment and Weaponry.) They are Russian, but, they are some of the best and most even-keeled.
Downside? My Russian is lousy, making them difficult to read and understand.
For more detailed Aircraft info:
I have a large collection of books, in my opinion the best are written by, or have contributions from, Y Gordon, B Gunnston, and J Lake.
I also have on tape several programs produced by The History and Discovery channels. I also look at the advisors and who produced them.
