Private military jet
for someone to own a Su-30MKI or Su-35UB, does it need to be retired or can it be privatly flown if given permision?

and how long will the Su-30MKI be operated for?

by the year 2031 will all the major Sukhoi aircraft like the Su-30MKI ect. all be out of service and replaced by newer aircraft, or will they be flown for more than 50 years?

and how long do airforces usaully operate a specific fighter aircraft type before it is retired?

thanx for your help it is greatly appreciated

The following is an oversimplification, but should give you a basic idea.

Some people (with large accounts) do own and operate de-comm'd military jets.

The radios, radars, and other functions must be brought up to your specific countries regulatory agencies requirements.

To overstate the obivious, the jet cannot have operational weapons systems. I have heard in some cases they may be allowed simulator equiptment, but again heresay.

To fly solo, you must have the proper certification. Which in the case of a jet, a standard single or multi-engine certificate will not suffice.

Whereas an organization such as FlyMiG would have different arrangements.

Foxhound: Good Luck.

Note:

There could be an issue with private planes and sonic booms over residental areas, or within US airspace.

There are some private owners of MiG-21's, and MiG-15/17's, that I know of.

The 15 is not supersonic.

And the 21 is owned by a guy in Oregon, maybe he has to fly out over the Pacific Ocean to "let 'er rip."

Foxhound: Out.
