According to A.F. Monthly, and Combat Aircraft.India has chosen the MiG-29K, for at least one of its Carriers; furthermore it is going with a Mod-3 upgrade for its fleet of Su-30 MKIs.
The Mod-3 is a wholly Russian project, and is superior to the Israili assisted Mod-2.
Some of the Su-30, which are actually 27-UB with some upgrades, but not to a full MK or MKI standard will be sold to Belarus.
Algeria has put in a solid order for 40 MiG-29SMT(C) with options for more, and there is reports from the same source(s) some Su-30s may be included as well.
Now where the magaizine stories vary is the nature of the Algerian aquisition.
One says it was political and the AF did not want the Mig and was leaning toward a western aircraft(F-16, F-18).
The other of the 2 says the opposite, AF wanted the Mig and the Civilian goverment wanted a weastern build.
One thing they do agree on, US companies(Boeing and Lockheed Martin,) along with the Department of Defense were courting the Algerians whom cancelled a T-50 trainer and F-16. Despite the US State Departments policy(as far as what they tell the public) of no sales to Algeria.
Russian aircraft industry, dead? Don't bet on it.
Unless you think Maxim and Rolling Stone, are accurate sources for such.
