We don't need Neros during any fire season

Jun. 25, 2006 12:00 AM

Ho-hum . . another fire season, more property and forest lost.

Last week, it was Flagstaff. This week, it's Sedona. Who knows where the next uncontrollable blaze will strike?

Meanwhile, the U.S. Forest Service still refuses to allow even a test of the best firefighting plane in the world, the IL-76 water bomber. And where is the governor and our Legislature in all this?

Why does the name Nero stick in my mind? - Alan Dean Foster, Prescott
